If you have ever travelled by road using a pubic bus in Nigeria, you are sure to have met at least one of these kinds of people:
- The prayer warriors. If you enter any bus, and you don’t have at least one in your bus you better get down. These people are a gem but they can get annoying quickly especially when they start preaching fear tactics as the gospel and the prayers start turning into a full Sunday service. But you say Amen under your breath because you don’t want to die.
- The earplugs gang- From the beginning of the trip till the end, they have their ears shut. Whatever is going on the bus is not as important as whatever they are listening to. The prayer warriors dislike these ones.
- The sleepers- As soon as small breeze blows them, they have left the land of the conscious. The bus can break down, be towed away, or fall into a ditch, and they would not be shaken.
- The shopaholics- “Siiiiiiiii minerals”, “Hezzzz dodo ikire”, “how much be this banana?”. They are every seller’s delight. They buy everything that they hawk on the road. If we calculate the hours they use to delay the bus because of their buy buy, we can estimate we should have arrived at the destination an hour earlier. If anybody farts, they are the suspects.
- The space draggers- These ones will enter and man spread as if they paid for your ticket. I personally hate these ones. I’m ready to drag leg space for the whole day, my legs would be numb but you will never forget me.
- The film and radio houses- These ones are daily proof that common sense is not common. They are in the bus with different people but they choose to play their songs and movies out loud. As if we want to share in your poor taste😒
- The content creators- Small thing they have snap. Small stop: “Hey guys, my bus has broken down oh! I don’t know what is going on in this country. I’m just tired.” Will you keep kwayet? 🤣🤣
- The leakers- No one:
Them when the bus passes a filing station: Driver ohhh, abeg stop I wan piss.
Look at you, You’re laughing but you’ve exposed your bum bum on the highway because you could not resist drinking that mineral.
- The Nigerian bus idols- Maybe it’s something about the wind blowing their head and giving them false clarity or it’s the food from the bukka where the driver stops to catch a break. They get so comfortable, they start to sing aloud. They are the same guys that go on project fame and take down their generation.
